Niall James Horan (/ˈnaɪəl ˈhɒrən/; born 13 September 1993) is an Irish singer and songwriter. He rose to prominence as a member of the boy band One Direction, formed in 2010 on the British singing competition The X Factor. Following the band's hiatus in 2016, Horan signed a recording deal as a solo artist with Capitol Records. Born and raised in Mullingar, Ireland, Horan auditioned in 2010 in The X Factor, and he got three "yes" and one "no". Eventually, he got into a group with four boys, Harry Styles, Louis Tomlinson, Liam Payne and Zayn Malik, and they formed the successful boy band One Direction. The band published 5 albums (in March 2015, Malik left the band, and the group published their last album), until early 2016, where the band got into a hiatus.
