Die Räuber, also De Räuber, is a dialect band with roots in the Cologne Carnival. Her repertoire consists for the most part of songs in the Cologne language, but some are also written in High German. The group was founded in 1991 by Karl-Heinz Brand and Kurt Feller; guitarist Norbert Campmann joined them two years later. Wolfgang Bachem followed in 2001; 2007 Matthias Kalenberg and Gino Trovatello († 2020). In 2012 Kalenberg left the band; his successor was Torben Klein. The robbers perform mainly in Germany, they also gave concerts in Belgium, the Netherlands, Luxembourg, Spain and Austria.
