Saphir was a German synth-pop and disco band of the 1980s. In addition to lead singer Arno Krause, the trio included Frank Niedeggen and Pierro Copertino. The single Shot in the Night was released in August 1985 and entered the German charts at the end of September, reaching number 37. With I Am Alive, the successor also entered the German charts in March 1986 and reached number 45. The singles I Feel Good (I Feel Fine) and The Witch-Queen of New Orleans, also released in 1986, failed to enter the charts. After the last two releases received little attention, the group split up.
