"Steklovata" is a popular Russian pop group from Orenburg. The group's founder, Sergey Kuznetsov, is known for such projects as "Laskoviy May," "Mama," "Ink for the 5th Grade," "Ink Sky," and "Novye Formi." Initially, the group was created as a teen band, with songs about school, first love ("Prosti"), and the difficult period of growing up ("Prosto Osen"). As the members matured, their repertoire evolved. Since vocal talent is the primary selection criterion, the members' appearance is significantly inferior to that of numerous "boy bands" on the Russian pop scene. Steklovata became popular online thanks to their amateur music video "New Year," which was featured on the TV show Shit-Parad, which spotlights the marginal, often amateur, music scene in Russia.
