Yuri Mikhailovich Antonov is a Soviet and Russian composer, singer, and musician born in Tashkent, Uzbek SSR. One of the most popular authors of Soviet estrada from the late 1970s through the 1980s, he is known for songs such as “From Sorrow to Joy,” “That’s How It Happens,” and “20 Years Later.” His vocal legacy remains widely recognized.
Antonov worked with ensembles including Singing Guitars, Araks, and Dobrye Molodtsy, then built a successful solo career. His music joins estrada, pop, soft rock, and author’s song.
